Edin Mujagić as of June 1st economist and fund manager at Hoofbosch investment fund

Edin Mujagić (46) has joined Beleggingsfonds Hoofbosch in Haarlem as an economist and fund manager as of June 1st 2024. He has been chief economist at OHV Vermogensbeheer since 2018. At Hoofbosch, Mujagić will be responsible for implementing Hoofbosch's investment policy and externally communicating the investment fund's mission and vision.

“ We are very pleased with the arrival of Edin. He is a great and very original economist. Together we are even better able to identify the risks in the world, and avoid them.”

Mujagić is a macroeconomist specialised in (the policy of) central banks. He studied economics at Tilburg University and has extensive experience in following, analyzing and writing about macroeconomic developments and financial markets, like being a macroeconomic analyst and macroeconomics editor at the business weekly FEM Business. Mujagić regularly writes for IEXProfs, Effect (Dutch Investors' Association) and InvestmentOfficer, among others. In addition he presents his column ‘Macro with Mujagić’ three times a week on BNR Business News Radio and is the author of several books on economics, including ‘Ten Years of the Euro: Biography of a Young World Currency’ (2009), ‘Money Murder: How Central Banks Are Destroying Our Money’ (2012), ‘Fascinating and Fascinated: A Monetary History of the Netherlands Since 1814/1816’ (2016) and ‘Turning Point 1971: About National Debt, the Working Poor and the New Economy’ (2021). The ninth edition of the latter book has now been published.

Martien van Winden, founder of the Hoofbosch investment fund together with Robbert-Jan Engels, about Edin's arrival: "We are very pleased with Edin's arrival. He is a great and very original economist. Together we are even better able to identify the risks in the world, and avoid them."

Edin about his move to investment fund Hoofbosch: “At Hoofbosch, learning from the lessons of the past is in the DNA. As a great lover of (economic) history and author of books that always focus on lessons from the past, Hoofbosch's modus operandi appeals to me enormously, as does the strong family feeling that prevails within Hoofbosch. I look forward to continuing that line with my contribution, as part of the Hoofbosch team, and to further increasing Hoofbosch's brand awareness.”
